Children's Photography Bluebonnets

Well here we are at the cusp of summertime. The kids are out of school (finally) and we will be winding down and enjoying the lazy days to come. I love summer. I don't love the heat. 

Here in Texas the heat is stifling! But just a few weeks ago the weather was stupendous!

I did a few shoots of some gorgeous girls in the bluebonnets.

I recently had some fun baby shoots for their first birthday. I can't wait to share those with you.

What can I say? I love photographing children.

I seem to have the most fun capturing their true little selves.

 {this little guy was SO sweet and such a trooper! He just climbed right up to this tree trunk. I love this location shoot}

Whirlwind Shoots-Kids March 2012

This past weekend, I felt like a whirlwind was upon me ;)
I had two shoots originally planned, then two more scheduled at the last minute. But all is good when shooting little kids-especially babies.
I had loads of fun with this session.
Baby "Y" is 4 months old and was such a delight. She had just woken up and was in such a good mood.

Laughter is Contagious

I take a lot of pictures. It's my life's work ;) 
But I rarely take pics of my hubby because, well, he doesn't like to pose for me ;)
But a week ago it was his birthday and so after church, whilst everyone was still dressed nicely I hurriedly pushed everyone outside (hee hee) to take a pic. A nice family pic (sans myself as usual) but it did include our two cute doggies. And my hubby actually smiled!! :D

Actually he was saying something funny, as he often is, and the kids were just laughing and laughing. I just had to capture these. I love to hear them laugh. 
Pretty soon we were ALL laughing. I can't even remember what we found so funny, but we were happy. 
Happy birthday sweetheart and thanks for the laughter and joy you bring to all of us.

Trying Out A New Lens

A week or so ago, I was hired to shoot a local Blue and Gold banquet for the Scouts.
It was a fun and interesting event ;) I got my feet wet doing an event and am forever grateful for the opportunity. I don't even want to think about doing a wedding HA!

Anyway, since it was inside, and I didn't know what kind of lighting they would have, I decided to rent a fast lens. I decided to rent the Pentax SMCP-FA 50mm f/1.4. 
I was very pleased with the results. Here are a few shots I took of some of the table decorations:

This is a great lens to have but for about $370 on sale, it's pretty pricey.
I have gotten some really good deals on ebay that I will share with you shortly.
Mainly because I have begun to shoot with film again :)

Oh to go back in time....

Friday Foto Fun-Free Photo Editing Download Link

I'm so excited to be finally putting together my studio. I was practicing the other night with some props and backdrops and such when in wandered our Jack Russell Jax.

Of course I had to take a few snapshots of him and my little guy {who is always a willing participant}.
